COAST KAMLOOPS HOTEL & CONVENTION CENTRE

 

The inaugural KEG Conference took place 31 years ago led by a small group of dedicated individuals who were passionate about providing a platform to discuss industry-specific topics and create positive networking opportunities. Today, the KEG Conference has grown to include numerous individuals and businesses and continues to provide an informative and networking based platform connecting prospectors, geologist, suppliers, manufacturers and investors alike.

 

Online Registration will open at 10am on Friday February 2, 2018.

Online Registration will remain open until Friday April 6, 2018 at 5pm.

After 5pm April 6, 2018, registration may only occur in person at the registration desk during conference hours. Expect line-ups and possible waits to register. You are encouraged to register here online if at all possible.

CONFERENCE DELEGATE:  

The cost is always a bargain and includes:

SHORT COURSE:  Orogenic Gold Deposits of British Columbia

(OPEN TO EVERYONE. No delegate registration required to register for this course.)

Date: April 9, 2018

Time: 8:30am to 12:30pm

Location: Columbia Room (within the Coast Kamloops Hotel & Convention Centre)

Cost: $75 (Coffee/tea and light snack will be provided)

Presented by: Murray Allan, Research Associate, MDRU - University of British Columbia

 

Description: Orogenic gold and its detritus (placer gold) propelled the early mining economy of British Columbia, and this deposit type remains one of the most attractive exploration targets today. This half-day short course introduces participants to the orogenic gold model, with case studies from BC and similar tectonic settings that illustrate the key geological and structural factors to consider in gold exploration. The course will include hands-on exercises, so come prepared to draw!

 

Participants: Geologists from industry, government, or academia. No previous formal training in orogenic gold required. No limit to number of participants. Bound course materials and excercise materials will be provided.

The evening will begin with a jovial welcome, tribute to our past Vice President John Dormer and presentation of two awards of recognition for outstanding service and contribution to the mineral industry – The Ron Wells Award and The Gold Pick Award.

TECHNICAL TALKS

Dates: April 10 & 11, 2018

Open to: Registered delegates

Description:  Take part in our fabulous technical presentations over the course of our two-day conference. From project updates to field studies and more. 

 

TRADE SHOW BOOTH (Trade Show runs April 10 (8:30am-5:00pm) & April 11 (8:30am-3:30pm):

 

Set-up must be completed by April 10 at 8:30am. Set-up times run April 9 from 5pm-9pm and April 10 from 7:00am-8:30am)

You may have additional booth workers attend to work your booth without the cost of a full Delegate admission. Please note, booth attendees receive name tags, however, will NOT be granted access to talks or any other conference items. There will be a charge per worker of $75 (to cover lunch, coffee/snack, and name tag costs) . 

Extra equipment and services (e.g. lighting, furniture, labour, display storage) can be arranged through Showtime Event & Display (Geoff Neufeld - 1-800-721-0029).

 

 

CORE SHACK DISPLAY (April 10 - 8:30am-5:00pm & April 11 - 8:30am-3:30pm):

(Must be registered as a Delegate to sign-up)

 

This will be our seventh year offering core shack during the KEG Conference.  If you have a BC-based project with drill core, other samples and supporting maps that you would like to display, please contact Jen Barter today!  Priority will be given to companies or individuals that are presenting at the KEG 2017 Technical Sessions, or have new and interesting projects to display. Note - you must be registered as a delegate to request a Core Shack display.

 

Display includes: 2 - 6'x2' tables and 1 backboard.

 

Set-up must be completed by April 10 at 8:30am. Set-up times run April 9 from 5:00pm-9:00pm and April 10 from 7:00am-8:30am).

 

Extra equipment and services (e.g. lighting, furniture, labour, display storage) can be arranged through Showtime Event & Display (Geoff Neufeld - 1-800-721-0029).

 

Space is available upon request. $250 +GST for 2 days to display rocks, core and maps. 

 

 

PROSPECTOR DISPLAY (April 10 - 8:30am-5:00pm & April 11 - 8:30am-3:30pm):

(Must be registered as a Delegate to sign-up)

 

Individuals are invited to display maps and rocks from their properties. Prospector Booths are available on a first come first serve basis.  Upon registering as a conference delegate you can email Jen Barter to apply for a booth space.  You will be given a private url for booth registration and charged $100.00 + GST which will be refunded in person at your booth upon conference completion. Presentations are welcome. 

 

FIELD TRIP - Tour of the Geology and Mineral Deposits of the Historic Stump Lake Mining Camp & Surrounding Area

(OPEN TO EVERYONE. No delegate registration required to register for this course.)

Date: April 12, 2018

Time: 8:30am - 4:30pm

Location: Stump Lake Mining Camp and Surrounding Area

Cost: $100

 

Enjoy a day tour (bus transportation provided) of the historic Stump Lake mining camp and surrounding area.  A bagged lunch will be provided.  Participants must be prepared to walk up to 600m to access some sites along the tour (walks will be along uneven and unpaved ground).
