Interdisciplinary Trauma Conference

When: Fri, 14-Jun-2019 07:45 - Fri, 14-Jun-2019 15:30

Where: 3550 Pharmacy Ave, Toronto, ON

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 2019 Interdisciplinary Trauma Conference presented by University of Toronto, Department of Surgery in partnership with St. Michael’s Hospital, Sick Kids Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.  This one day conference is being held Friday, June 14th, 2019 at the BMO Institute for Learning.  The conference title is Mass Casualty in a Canadian Context.

We anticipate attendance of over 250 health care personnel from across the province and beyond including nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and first responders (police, fire, paramedics) involved in trauma programs or emergency care as well as public health and ministry of health policy makers.  This year’s conference will focus on mass casualty in a Canadian context, specifically exploring mass casualty through the lens of first responders, trauma and emergency care staff with a focus on both clinical care and expertise, and system preparedness and training.  Topics will include a number of recent high profile mass casualty events including the Humboldt Broncos bus crash, the Yonge street van attack, and the Collingwood bus crash.  The conference will be a mix of panel discussions exploring the unique challenges Canadian care providers face and sessions focusing on mass casualty training and hospital and system preparedness.

Additional conference details can be found on the event website at www.traumaconference.ca.
