| | | | Behind many Olympians there are COACHES who inspire athletes to reach for the stars. Behind many 6-year olds, participating in sport for the first time a parent, teacher or friend becomes a COACH to help the young person perform a new skill.
What the Coaches Association of Ontario believes….
Coaches can make a positive difference in people’s lives. It’s happening every day in communities across our province.
Everyone who comes in contact with a coach should have the opportunity to improve their performance in sport and to become a better citizen.
Coaches should be valued in the communities where they coach.
Coaches should be given increased access to education, mentoring and employment opportunities.
Coaches can help other coaches.
The Coaches Association of Ontario is a new organization building on an old concept – Coaches learn from other Coaches. Who better to understand what coaches need to know to prepare athletes for competition, how to solve problems, teach a new skill, deal with sport parents than other successful coaches.
The CAO believes coaches should be given increased access to education, mentoring, employment opportunities, and valued in the communities where they coach.
