This industrial building of historical and contextual significance is a highly visible neighbourhood landmark in the Dovervcourt-Wallace Emerson-Junction. The building was constructed by the Canadian I.T.S. Rubber Company (predecessor to Viceroy Manufacturing) in 1929. The company manufactured rubber goods such as shoe heels and water bottles. The building was expanded in 1938, 1939 and 1941, reflecting its contribution to the war effort. Complete with solid construction, high ceilings, simple detailing and proximity to the Bloor-Danforth line, the building has high adaptive re-use value
