Our fees depend on the payment processing option you choose:


OPTION 1: Payment processing through Karelo.com

For a typical $200 transaction, our total fees are 5%; this includes event set-up, customer service and payment processing.


Karelo.com Fees:

  • One-time set-up fee: $199
  • No monthly or yearly fees
  • Transaction fees:
    • Amounts <$200 : 6% (minimum $1.50)
    • Amounts>=$200 : 5%
    • Amounts>=$500 : 4%

Payment Processing Fees

  • Payment processing fees included
  • Payment processed with Karelo.com's merchant accounts
  • Payments with Visa, MasterCard or Interac Online
  • Amex available (additional fees)
  • No additional fees for refunds

Examples

  • $100 transaction:
    • Karelo fee: 6% = $6.00
    • Credit card fees included
  • $200 transaction:
    • Karelo fee: 5% = $10.00
    • Credit card fees included
  • $500 transaction:
    • Karelo fee: 4% = $20.00
    • Credit card fees included

OPTION 2: Payment processing using your own PayPal business accout or your own Stripe.com account

For a typical $200 transaction, our total fees are 4.8%; this includes event set-up, customer service and payment processing.

Karelo.com Fees:

  • One-time set-up fee: $199
  • No monthly or yearly fees
  • Transaction fees:
    • Amounts<$200 : 2% + $0.50 (minimum $1.00)
    • Amounts>=$200 : 1.5% + $0.50
    • Maximum per transaction: $8

Payment Processing Fees

  • 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction
  • Payment processed with your own Stripe or PayPal account
  • Fully integrated; no merchant account needed; easy set-up and administration
  • You have direct control over the funds.
  • No additional fees for refunds

Examples

  • $100 transaction:
    • Karelo fee: 2%+0.50 = $2.50
    • CC fee: 2.9%+0.30 = $3.20
    • Total fees: $5.70 (= 5.7%)b>
  • $200 transaction:
    • Karelo fee: 1.5%+0.50 = $3.5
    • CC fee: 2.9%+0.30 = $6.10
    • Total fees: $9.60 (= 4.8%)
  • $500 transaction:
    • Karelo fee: $8.00
    • CC fee: 2.9%+0.30 = $14.80
    • Total fees: $22.80 (= 4.56%)
  • $750 transaction:
    • Karelo fee: $8.00
    • CC fee: 2.9%+0.30 = $22.50
    • Total fees: $30.05 (= 4%)

GST is added to all Karelo fees.
