Skater Registration 2024/25
Welcome to our 2024/2025 season. Registration is ongoing.
Volunteering Requirements and Volunteer Cheques
Each skating family is required to submit a $250 volunteer cheque dated for March 31, 2025, which will be cashed at the end of the season if volunteer requirements are not fulfilled. Cheques will be collected at the beginning of the season. The skating year and fundraising commitments are broken down into 2 sessions, fall and spring. Skating families are required to volunteer 4 hours or fundraise during each session. (Teen/Adult Skate does not have volunteer requirements)

Carnival:

Costume Coordinator for Carnival Group (includes planning, design and execution of costumes for a carnival CanSkate group number)

Carnival Concession Coordinator (includes all planning, preparation for concession at Carnival) (Only 2 volunteers required)
PreSTAR, StarSkate & CompetitiveSkate: each family MUST volunteer at our Jamboree skating competition held in Smithers on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
CanSkate Program
One or Two Day Option
CanSkate Program is Canada’s only national learn-to-skate program. It was developed by experts to teach the fundamentals of skating in a progressive and sequential manner.
For children 3 and up. Master strong basic skills to prepare skaters for all ice sports – hockey, ringette, speed skating and figure skating. Classes are taught by CanSkate Certified Coaches and supported by trained Program Assistants.
CanSkate Program starts October 7, 2024; ends March 13, 2025 - 21 weeks
Registration is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
1 day package (Monday OR Thursday) $220
2 day package (Monday AND Thursday) $385
Mondays 3:45-4:30 pm
Thursdays 4:50-5:30 pm
Teen/Adult Program- Figure Skating Program
Figure skates only & previous figure skating experience required
Sessions include 15 minutes of group time, 45 minutes independent skating
Friday: 5:30-6:30 pm (21 sessions available) in the New Arena
** Ice time may be shared with Intermediate and Senior club skaters if attendance is low.
Start Date: September 13th End Date: March 8th
Cost: Mandatory $59.00 Skate Canada Fee plus punch card
10 time punch pass $200 (minimum required)
15 time punch pass, $255

PreSTAR Program – (Cost varies depending on selected days)
CanSkate Level 4-5. *** Helmets mandatory

Sessions include on-ice full group lesson & includes Wednesday Off-ice 4:45-5:00 pm

Monday: 5:15 – 6:00 pm (21 sessions $310)
Wednesday: 3:30 – 4:30 pm (26 sessions $480)
Friday: 3:30 – 4:15 pm (23 sessions $330)
Note: Session in New Arena for September, then move to the Civic Centre
Registration includes Christmas Break Ice and Sunday Competition Simulations (TBA)
Junior Program – (Cost varies depending on selected days)
Must have passed Star 1 Skills and/or completed 1 season in PreSTAR
Start Date: Wednesday September 4, 2024 End Date: March 14, 2025
Sessions include group time and one 15 minute off-ice per week (Wednesday 4:45-5:00 pm)
Select from the following days. (Minimum of 2 sessions)
Monday: 5:15 – 6:00 pm (21 sessions $310)
Wednesday: 3:30 – 4:30 pm (26 sessions $480)
Friday: 3:30 – 4:15 pm (23 sessions $330)
Open Sessions: Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and Friday afternoon (see Open Session registration to select these sessions)

Intermediate Program – (Cost varies depending on selected days)
Must have passed Star 2 Freeskate and Star 2 skills
Start Date: September 3,, 2024 End Date: March 14, 2025
Sessions include 15 minutes of group time and one 30 minute off-ice session per week
Off ice times: Sept. Tuesday, 3:30 – 4:10, Oct. – Mar. Tuesday, 3:30 – 4:00 pm
Private lesson fees will be billed separately on a monthly basis

Monday: 4:30 – 5:30 pm (3:45 – 4:45 pm in September) (21 sessions $320)
Tuesday: 4:30 – 5:30 pm, (26 sessions $380)
Wednesday: 4:15 – 5:30 pm (26 sessions $450)
Thursday: 2:30 – 3:30 pm (2:30 – 3:45 pm in September) (26 sessions $390)

Sessions include 15 minutes of group time and one 40 minute off-ice per week
Off ice times: Sept. Tuesday 3:30 – 4:10, Oct. – Mar. Thursday 2:30 – 3:10 pm
Private lesson fees will be billed separately on a monthly basis

Friday Afternoon: 4:00 – 5:15 pm (23 sessions $360 incl. 15 min group lesson) Starting September 6th.

Punch Cards
Available to PreSTAR, Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and High Performance skaters
Punch cards must be used to skate on days for which skaters are not registered.
**There will be three additional Sunday ice sessions, for which punch cards can be used (Intermediate, Senior and High Performance skaters)
5 sessions: $100 ($20 per session)
10 sessions: $170 ($17 per session)
