Ride Description (scroll down to see the Itinerary with RWGPS links below): Thunder Lake is a fully-supported, intermediate cycling/camping weekend, suitable for cyclists with road bikes or pedal-assist e-bikes (no throttle bikes). Meet by 8:45 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. start on Saturday in Onoway at the public parking lot across from the Post Office (5012 Lac St Anne Trail South - south of the railway tracks). We'll ride approximately 80K on Saturday to Thunder Lake and return 94K on Sunday. Expect a combination of paved mainly flat highways and country roads.
We'll have a sweep; the pace is relaxed (15-20K/hr) and no one gets left behind. There will be eating opportunities every 20 - 30K. Our support vehicle can carry two bikes and riders if someone cannot ride or needs a break. The leader will bring their personal vehicle with room for two additional bicycles and riders.
There will be a trip planning meeting for registered participants in the weeks before trip departure (date to be determined). More detailed information will be shared at that time.
Accommodations: Thunder Lake Campground in Thunder Lake Provincial Park. Bring loonies for the shower.
Fee: $125 to reserve your registration. Pay by e-transfer to: Cliquez ici.
Fee includes: meals, accommodation/campsite, food, support vehicle that carries tents and a small bag for each registrant (clothing, bike supplies, "beverages").
Fee does not include: coffee break on Sunday, ice cream when we arrive at the campground, loonies for shower at campsite, and "beverages"
EBTC Refund policy: If canceled, the fee is forfeited if no replacement is found. If you need to cancel, please contact ride leader Debbi Wallace at Cliquez ici or 780-908-8558 (cell).
