| Bike Packing Ottewell to / from Fort Saskatchewan

"Want to try backpacking? Join this one day (24 hour) bike packing trip from Ottewell (in SE Edmonton) to Fort Saskatchewan using multi-use paths (not roads). This is a casual, no drop 45 km ride (each way). Expected moving speed is 15 -17 kph. You need to provide everything to cover your food and accommodation needs for 24 hours (including food and camping gear). The plan is to book campsite(s) at a campground in Fort Saskatchewan - so the costs will be minimal.
Appropriate bikes for this trip include: mountain, hybrid, fat, gravel or e-bike (NOT throttle). Tires less than 50 mm wide may find the 7 km stretch of gravel difficult to navigate with your backpacking load. All bikes are expected to be in good working order. You are welcome to use paniers or a bike trailer to transport your supplies. There are only 2 -3 hills to climb.
