Quand: Lun, 21-Sep-2026 18:00 - Jeu, 24-Sep-2026 18:00
Où: Fairmont, BC
This is an intermediate social overnight cycling event in Fairmont Hot Springs. Each participant is welcome to bring a well-maintained road bike, and/or a pedal assist E-bike, and be able to manage a minimum of 15 kmh. RWGPS would be useful, but is not required for this no drop ride. All cyclists agree to follow EBTC rules, traffic laws, safe cycling practices, and ride leader instructions. There is NO van support.
It is advisable to arrive the evening before i.e. on Monday September 21 so that you are ready to drive to start of ride in Cranbrook on Tuesday September 22.
Day 1: Tues September 22 - Cycle from Cranbrook to Marysville along Northstar Rails to Trail route. A coffee in St Mary's, if wanted, then take a short walk to Mary's Falls. OR, instead of coffee and walk to the falls, there is an extended cycling option to Kimberley available. If the extended route to Kimberley is taken, we will cycle back to Marysville and have a little break at the coffee shop. We will then cycle back to Cranbrook using Northstar Rails to the Trailhead again. Approx. 44 km with 250 metres of elevation on multi-use paths with gentle slopes to/from Marysville or about 55 km with 440 m of elevation (it is primarily a gentle uphill all the way into Kimberley from Marysville) from Cranbrook to / from Kimberley.
Day 2: Wed September 23 - Fairmont Hot Springs along Markin-MacPhail Westside Legacy Trail to Invermere and back. Beverage and food break in Invermere. Approx. 55 km with 640 metres in elevation on multi-use paths.
Day 3: Thurs September 24 - Optional day. You could choose to leave FHS this day or you can do an alternate activity in the area e.g. Hiking (Wilmer Wetlands, Lower Bugaboo falls, Panorama Ski hill area, Kootenay National Park); Kayaking in wetlands, Golfing, etc. If the weather is hot, you could do a beach day. Finish your day at the local brewery - Arrowhead Brewing. Your choice!
This is a ride where all participants are responsible for organizing their own accommodations, food, and transportation. Each day will be a meet-up, arriving each day at the designated time and location. If people are interested, reservations for group suppers could be made at local restaurants.
There will be a group meeting prior to the ride to discuss options for food and suggest ride time starts (may be weather dependent).
