Presentation Topic:
Radon Mitigation Considerations for New Construction Part 3 Buildings by Alex Grams will explain what radon is, where it comes from, why it poses a health hazard to building occupants, and what the implications are for the design of new construction buildings. Design options and best practices, unique considerations for certain building typologies, and a look at several case studies will be explored.
Presenter Bio
Alex is a Professional Engineer (APEGA, EGBC) and C-NRPP Radon Mitigation Professional who is passionate about using design to improve communities. In his role as Associate and Specifier with DIALOG he has been involved in the design of soil gas mitigation systems for a range of different building typologies including recreation centers, industrial warehouse buildings, multi-family residential buildings, and healthcare facilities. Alex's experience includes work as a mechanical designer and engineer, project field engineer, and construction manager. As a specifier, he provides technical expertise and support during the development and review of the project specification package and other contract documents.
